Today is the organization's holiday party. I got up this morning at 6 and made cupcakes and a small cake, before I'd even had my coffee (which explains why I forgot to add in a non-essential ingredient). While those were baking, I had a quick shower. While they were cooling, I took the dog for a walk. Then I put in two packages of cinnamon rolls to bake, and got the rest of the stuff ready for work. I've gotten roped into participating in a holiday skit, god help us, and I had to bring my redneck costume (overalls and a flannel shirt).
Yesterday, for the division's holiday party, I got up early and made cranberry bread. (This is all from mixes, I'm not completely crazy.) We had quite a carbohydrate banquet laid out yesterday morning - everything from doughnuts to grits. Did I resist? No, I did not.
When I got home from work yesterday, I spent two hours moving furniture and unpacking boxes. Then I inhaled some dinner and ran to the PX and the commissary. We were out of coffee - it was an emergency.
Tomorrow, the kids arrive. We need to get a bunch of stuff out of their rooms before they get here, so they have some space. We need to take some extra chairs down to the basement, too.
One of these days, I'm going to get to sit down, I swear.
