So much for good intentions - there was Kentucky Fried Chicken at the potluck. I had a drumstick, some veggies, and some of the chocolate pie. Yum. The new house is wonderful. The new water heater does indeed heat water, though the pressure has dropped by at least a third. David might have to call them back about that. The automatic payroll deduction hasn't kicked in yet, so I need to drop by the office and write 'em a check. We're still working out the arrangement of kitchen stuff and all - it's a much smaller kitchen than the old place, so figuring out where everything will go is taking a while. We're also working on getting the fence in the backyard - that should happen within the next month, I think. Even in the depth of winter, we get sun in the house, especially in the back bedroom, which faces west and has windows on three sides. I bet it's hot in there in the summer, but I'll get curtains up by then. Every morning and evening, I take Dolly out for a walk around the neighborhood. There are sidewalks everywhere, and a few open fields where I can let her off the leash to stretch her legs. The rest of the time, she's indoors, so I try to get her as much exercise as I can. Once the fence is up, she can spend the days outdoors, and hang out on the back porch if it rains. The whole area gets landscaping as part of the package, so the landscaping company shows up every other week to mow, or blow leaves. We'll have to mow the fenced area, but that will take about 15 minutes, tops. I might be able to plant some annuals by the front walk - I'll have to check first. The new house is wonderful, and David gets major husband points for finding it for me. I'll live here as long as they let me.
