Work is still interesting. I'm doing more web stuff these days, and I enjoy that. Right now I'm waiting for the email prgram again - we're going to send an email out to all those 14,000 people. We send it on a delayed basis so it doesn't slow down everyone else's email during working hours. It's getting really late - I hope I can get it done today.

Dolly's all done being gimpy, and is back to her perky self. Even more so, really, since the weather's cooling off a little. (The high today is in the 50s.) She loves cool weather, and gets positively frisky at temperatures below 40. When the snow falls, she goes ballistic, racing through the yard, kicking up a rooster tail of snow. It's quite a sight.

Tonight is our group's monthly "birthday cake" meeting. I'm in charge of buying the cake each month. This month's anniversary girl is Andrea, who got sober at 13 and now has 27 years. Our group has a bunch of brand new people, and a bunch of serious old-timers.

I'll be an old-timer myself in July. In AA, anyone under 20 years is a newcomer, but once you pass the big two-oh, you're an old-timer. Some sensitive types prefer to be called "long-timers." I disdain such egotism. Tell it like it is: I've been sober a long time, and now I'm (kinda) old, ergo: old timer.

Seriously, though - sobriety is a matter of quality more than quantity. I'm only one drink away from a drunk. Fortunately, I have the whole AA program, twelve steps, a higher power, and a sponsor between me and that drink.
