2006-03-20 - 12:16 p.m. On Sunday, I cleaned. I spent about seven hours starting to clean the back bedroom, moved furniture, cleaned and rearranged the hall closets, toted stuff downstairs. There's more to do, but I'd had enough by then. I moved a couple of bookcases, the books are still piled up on the daybed, and I didn't get the boxes of David's equipment out of the room, but it's all off the bed, and the floor is reasonably clean. Speaking of David, I got an email from him yesterday - he's getting settled into the new routine. His building is heated, and they have a gym, so he's happy. He won't be able to communicate as much as in other deployments, as they have limited computer and phone access. It's always nice to hear from him, whenever he gets the chance. Yay, vernal equinox! For the next six months, we'll have more daylight than darkness. Walking the dog gives me a chance to observe the sky, among other things. It's been very clear lately, so lots of stars at night, and pretty skies in the morning as the sun comes up. There are a lot of birds out in the early morning, too. Lately, it's broad daylight by the time we go for our morning walk. Once daylight savings hits, it'll change, but it sure is nice right now. We only walk for about 15-20 minutes, but it makes a big difference in how I feel the rest of the day. I know she likes it. The dog has odd fears. Yesterday, I took her out at dusk, and walked through a playground. I had let her off the leash, and got on the swing. I pushed off and went forward, and the dog just got frantic, shrieking and running behind me, where I promptly ran into her on the backswing. Goofy beast. I immediately got off the swing and walked away, though, because she really was freaking out. She continued to shriek at me for another few minutes. I guess I'm not allowed to do that anymore!
