Firday, and it's just lovely outside. It's going to be warm all weekend, too. Yay!
I got a severe haircut at lunchtime. My hairstylist fit me in at the last minute. I told her to cut it short, and boy howdy, did she. She also waxed my eyebrows within an inch of their lives. I don't like the way she styles my hair once she's done cutting it, but at least it's a good cut.
We had a baby shower for one of my co-workers this afternoon. I made her a baby blanket back in January. Handmade baby blankets are always a crowd pleaser – it got a big “Aw!” Another co-worker might be a grandma soon, and she wants one, too. I told her just to give me a couple of months’ notice.
I’m going to Raleigh on a business trip, Sunday through Tuesday. I'll take Dolly to Mom's house and a friend will look after Noel. I'm taking my work laptop computer with me. There's no way I can go three days without email, for heaven's sake. I just hope the hotel has some way to connect to the internet.
Next month, I'm going to participate in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica, on May 13. I got conscripted to be team captain for our company team. We have about 12 people walking. March of Dimes got smart a few years ago, and changed their format. It used to be that you would pledge X cents per mile, and the poor walker had to hike the 10 or 20 miles to earn the money. Now, you pledge a certain amount, and the walk is much shorter. Ours is only three miles - I can do that in an hour.
