2006-04-01 - 7:02 a.m. Here's a photo of that baby blanket I made:
I'm glad my supervisor took pictures of the baby shower and emailed them to everyone. I meant to take a picture of the thing myself. I'm proud of these blankets - they're not hard to make, and people just go crazy for them. The woman who got this one actually got a little teary. The first blanket I made was for my sister, who lives in Kansas. It was a plain single stitch, but it had that double ruffle. My sister and I are not close at all - we didn't even meet until we were both in our twenties - but at that time, we emailed and talked on the phone occasionally, and she told me she was expecting. I think that blanket arrived after the baby, but the rest have gotten to the moms in time. The next one I made was adapted from a pattern I found online at the Lion Brand website. I made that for a co-worker at UNC, and it was so popular, I just keep making it. I was impulse shopping at a Big Lots the other day, and they had rubber ducky-yellow boucle yarn for a buck a skein. I got all they had - I hope it's enough for a blanket. That one will be fun to make!
