I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend, brought to you courtesy of Caiaphus and Pontius Pilate. Hey, they ought to get credit: without them there's no crucifixion, no resurrection, no redemption. So let's have a round of applause for the bad guys!

Ahem.

Well, things are fine here. I planted a mess of marigolds along my front walk on Friday, in hopes of discouraging the local dog that craps there a few times each week. (Marigolds are pungent - Dolly avoids them altogether. So far, so good.) The squirrels are digging around the plants, but that's because they buried their pecans there all winter. I know, because I dug them up. Heh.

I went to the beach on Saturday with a friend from work - it was sunny and beautiful, and we had a marvelous time.

On Sunday, Dolly and I went to see family for Easter. We stopped at a state park on the way and had a short stroll through the woods. After a big dinner and a lot of chatter, we came back home.

Home, at 8 pm on Sunday night, was about 85 degrees: the AC wasn't working. Ugh. It was cooler outside, so I put a fan in my bedroom window. That made it cool enough to sleep. Yesterday, the landlord fixed the unit - it had blown a fuse. It's all better now, in fact, it was darn cold in the house this morning.

We had a terrific thunderstorm yesterday afternoon, heralding the arrival of a cold front. It had 64 mile an hour winds and lightning, so it caused some power outages. We are in the midst of (another) drought, so the rain is welcome.

My pottery class started on the 8th. We had no class (heh) last weekend due to the holiday. This next weekend, I have to come to work for a couple of hours on Saturday and Sunday, to learn how to use a ccomputer program for our website. Crappy timing, but learning Macromedia Flash is more important than throwing pots, at least right now.

Many thanks to all of you who are supporting me for the March of Dimes WalkAmerica. It's a good cause. (If you're interested, check out my pledge page.)

Finally, here's a great link for all us red-blooded Americans. This ought to be required viewing for citizenship. Go to Redneck Mother and scroll down to the video clip (the April 17 entry). It's long, but worth it.
