2006-05-03 - 2:30 p.m. SecraTerri is doing something new – she’s writing 200 words per day. This is an outgrowth of a writing class technique of 100 words per day. 100Words.net has a collection of these – they’ve been doing this for six years now. It’s hard to write each day, but once I get started, it’s hard to pare it down. The idea is to weed out the extraneous, and convey the message as clearly as possible. Now, if I weed out the extraneous, there’s no Daily Corvi, so that won’t happen. But clarity, conciseness, brevity—those are goals worth pursuing. I doubt I’ll be able to do this daily, but I thought I’d give it a try today. Here’s a hundred: On Sunday, I went to Game Five of the Stanley Cup playoff finals – the Hurricanes vs. the Canadiens. There’s nothing like a playoff game – the crowd was so loud we couldn’t hear the (usually deafening) music. It’s very suspenseful and exciting, almost too much so. That was a great end to a busy weekend –a pottery class (sore arms), another software class, three hours wandering around a street fair (sore feet), and a four mile hike Sunday morning (sore legs). Last night, the Hurricanes won another game, and the first round. They play the Jersey Devils next. Let’s go Canes!
