Well, hmm. The Canes are playing again tonight - they won one game, the Sabres have won two, and the series is for best of seven. So we'll see. They are very evenly matched so far. I hope they win, but they'd better get more inspired than they were on Wednesday. All three games have been won by one goal, and all were won or lost in the second period.

The Sabres fans we saw last Saturday are, by far, the worst behaved fans I've ever seen. Appalling. I swear a lot, and I live on an Army post, and I couldn't believe the language. I had to break up an incipient fight, even. (Those who know me can totally picture me whacking a guy in the chest, yelling "Sit down, asshole! The puck's on the ice!") It was something else.

I went to the gym Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of last week and this week (so far). I plan to go tonight, as well. I am not as sore as I was last week. I also planned my workouts a bit better - chest on Monday, arms on Wednesday, shoulders on Friday. It's hard to work shoulders when my chest muscles are sore. Today, my triceps are sore, but I don't think that will impede the shoulder work very much. When I go, I spend about half an hour on the elliptical cross trainer before working out, and then do about 100 crunches. I'm beat by the time I leave the gym.

Last night, after dinner, I took Dolly out to the running trails off of Canopy Lane. The magnolias are in bloom, making the entire woods smell like roses and lemons. It was near dusk, so the wood thrushes were singing, the most beautiful sound in the world. I even heard a bobwhite - first time ever in NC. It was lovely.

Fayetteville has a small ceremony on Memorial Day at the city war memorial, followed by a downtown event called Glory Days. There's a farmer's market on Saturday, the first one in years. Tonight is Fourth Friday. I'll be downtown a lot this weekend, I see.
