Well, let's see... the Hurricanes are now 3 to 1 over the Oilers in the series. That means that we need to win one more game to win the Stanley Cup. They play tonight in Raleigh - seats near the rafters are going for upwards of $300. That's just craziness. I'll be watching the game on tv. The games have been very exciting - both teams are playing well.

Phil, a.k.a. Dad #3, took me to the game on Wednesday night. What fun! The Canes won, 5-0, which is basically a blowout in hockey. Towards the end of the game, fans were chanting, "We want the Cup! We want the Cup!" I hope the Canes win it tonight!

I didn't go to the gym at all last week (I think I went on Monday). The short reason is PMS. Between feeling achy and awful, and having zero patience or tolerance, I elected to stay home and spare everyone my wonderfulness.

I went to the water aerobics class two weeks ago on Friday. It was great fun, but the (indoor) pool closes whenever it rains, so no classes last week. They don't want us to get wet, I guess. (In fairness, we've had some thunderstorms, too, including one that woke me from a sound sleep at midnight: kaBOOM!) It's rained hard all day today, sometimes sideways. Alberto (now a tropical depression) was due west of here at noon. It should be gone by tonight.

The doctor appointment on Friday was mildly interesting - the doc had me get a series of x-rays. (He also made me get a blood test first to prove I'm not pregnant. Okay, doc, whatever.) He also recommended that I go to the clinic chiropracter, but that person's services are available only to active duty personnel. If I want to go to a chiropracter, I can go on my own, but the Army ain't paying for it. We have osteopathic doctors here at the clinic, and I may go see one of those. My back pain is mostly muscular, and it comes and goes. It's not severe, though I get the occasional twinge that stops me cold. I try to be very careful of my back - they're one to a customer, no exceptions.

At work, one of our co-workers has given notice. I plan to apply for her position, with the encouragement of the managers. It's similar to my current job, but not so dependent on grants for funding. I just hope I don't have to move to her office - it's a windowless room across from the loudest people in the organization. If so, I'll just adapt. At UNC, I once had an office in a converted elevator shaft. There's always a way to make things work. No pun intended.
