2006-12-08 - 9:25 p.m. Well, I'm just the social butterfly this weekend. My FRG* is holding their Christmas party Saturday afternoon, my AA** group is holding their party directly afterwards, and on Sunday, a good SCA*** friend is having a combination birthday and goodby party - he deploys in January, for a year in Afghanistan. There's another SCA thing happening on Saturday afternoon, but I honestly don't see how I can squeeze it in.**** * Family Readiness Group, for Army spouses I got Deerslayer back from the body shop today - she looks great. I do believe they even gave it an alignment. It's got a brand new hood, fender, and bumper. They vacuumed the front of the car and cleaned off the dash. Awfully nice, considering how filthy it was when I took it in. I took my rental car back to find a swarm of people trying to rent cars - they snapped those keys up, ran it through the car wash, and gave it to someone else before I even made it out the door. Heh. This weekend, I have several things to work on: Christmas cards, Christmas cookies, and a baby blanket which the giver would like to give for Christmas, if possible. It's more than halfway done, so the odds are good. I figure if I work on cards while cookies bake, I'll get both of them done. That's the theory, anyway. The blanket can't intersect with cookie dough or ink, so I work on that in meetings and waiting rooms. Next week, I'm going in early on Monday. It's the first day of a three day program. The materials are ready, I just have to buy snacks and set the place up. Tuesday morning is our monthly staff birthday party - December's my month to help, and I'm bringing some food (already purchased and ready to serve). Tuesday afternoon I have a doctor's appointment. Thursday is our division holiday party, Friday is the organization holiday party. It's a wonder we get anything done at all.
