2006-12-16 - 8:50 p.m. Well, Nigel is a lovely dog, nine months old and full of enthusiasm. Dolly greeted him with a snarl, and put him directly in his place. He even rolled over for her. Then they went tearing around the house and wrestled and carried on until they were both totally worn out. I've always said that my dog is completely submissive, but she's really only submissive to people. She doesn't have to be the boss of other dogs, but she doesn't put up with any crap, either. Good girl. Aunt Jean and I enjoyed the canine comedy routine, then we made a quick run to Macy's. We went back to the house to meet Mom, then went out to lunch. We lost our minds and tried to go to the mall this afternoon, but quickly realized the error of our ways, not even attempting to park. We went to a different, smaller mall, where parking spots were in better supply, and I got some gifts for my co-workers. I mentioned that I finished that baby blanket - here it is:
I made it for my friend, Karen, who just loves it. Her niece is expecting, and Karen can't wait to wrap the baby up in it. Two more of my co-workers are in line for blankets. Another one, a doctor who is pregnant and on bed rest for four months, wants to knit but needs some remedial instruction on casting on and binding off. One of the clinic doctors approached me yesterday to see if I'd be willing to go visit her and help out. Of course I said yes, especially after she said it would be after the holidays. I'm also trying to knit a couple of last minute gifts. Crazy as I could be, that's me. Those folks might get IOUs on Christmas Day, but I'll do my best.
