2006-12-29 - 11:48 a.m. I've had poor eating habits this whole year. The holidays have just given me an excuse to really go nuts. Mindless eating and lack of exercise are a bad combination. I will start out a day eating well, then eat a bunch of garbage in the evening. I feel crappy: tired, bored, not healthy. Plus, my pants are shrinking. So, two things: get the unhealthy food out of the house, and find a way to get exercise. I've been unable to do my usual walking since I developed plantar fasciitis, and it's not going away, but I've found that if I stretch a lot, I can do some. I can at least start by walking my poor bored dog. I bought a bicycle pump, and I'm going to see if my son's bicycle, currently in the basement, can be adjusted to fit me. We have a lot of running trails on post, where I could ride and let the dog run loose, so we'd both get some fresh air. It’s worth a try, anyway. Remember when I wrote that Stephanie Pearl McPhee (the Yarn Harlot) was soliciting donations for Doctors Without Borders? She was trying to raise $120,000 in two weeks. Instead, it took 73 hours and 36 minutes, or just over four days. Watch out for knitters. There are a lot of us.
