2007-01-02 - 9:14 p.m. We have a new health improvement program at work called Fit Commit. It has three components: smoking cessation, diet, and exercise. I signed up for the latter two, having quit smoking a long time ago. I figure it can't hurt, and it might help. Recently, my behavior has been kind of self-destructive, eating too much crap, getting little exercise, and it's showing in my outlook on life. It certainly isn't as self-destructive as drinking was, but it's similar. The only way to break a bad habit is to replace it with a good one. I ate three good meals and I walked the dog. I would have gone for a short walk at lunch, had I remembered to bring decent shoes. I still need to burrow through to the bike and see if it can be adjusted to fit me. Progress, not perfection.
