2007-01-06 - 9:57 p.m. Another beautiful day. It got up to 73 I think. I took the dog out to a nearby field for some exercise. The field has some low places, and a big storm last night left a shallow pond there, perhaps two inches deep. I found a suitable stick for her to fetch, and threw it in the puddle. She was so happy splashing around fetching the stick that I did it for some time. Then she got to hang out in the yard for a couple of hours, drying off, because, ugh, wet dog. Heh. I spent those couple of hours cursing my fabric, but I did get about halfway through making the surcote. It's velvet, and the lining is acetate (satin) and neither one of those is easy to sew. If I'd realized that, I wouldn't have gotten them. Anyway, I stopped at the point where I'd have to sew the two fabrics together, and went upstairs to find something else to do. I read for a couple of hours this afternoon before making supper and going to the meeting. Now I'm going to go finish that book off. A lovely end to a lovely day.
