One of the interesting things I've noticed about this year's Dr. King Day news is the emphasis on his anti-war speeches. I knew in a general way that he'd spoken out against the Vietnam War, but didn't realize the extent of it, and how unpopular it was. He certainly was an exceptional man. Not perfect, but exceptional nonetheless.

So I went to the event, Twelfth Night, and I wore the (blasted) dress. It was fine, but the day was warm, and the building was hot. A heavy velvet dress was not working. I went to see the vendor I'd ordered from (Psaltery Dreams), and they had the new dress, which was lovely and lightweight, and they'd even made a hat for me. All it needed was a veil, so I bought it and voila, garb.

The event was fun, and my new garb was so comfortable I couldn't believe it. Hurray! I mean, huzzah!

I'll make another underdress out of some lightweight, light colored muslin I bought on sale, and it will be perfect summer garb.

Yesterday, I packed up most of the Christmas stuff. We got some new ornaments this year, so I needed to re-arrange most everything. I hauled all the boxes upstairs, sorted and re-packed, and got three of them set, but there's still one left to pack. I had to stop.

I've found that if I stretch properly, I can do a lot more walking. Standing is still a problem - there's only so much I can do before I have to take a break. But at least I can walk the dog!
